These terms govern the moving services Affordable Movers provides as a fully licensed and insured New York moving company, registered with the New York State Department of Transportation and operating under our own US DOT and MC authority. Booking a date means you’ve read them.

Quote, deposit, cancellation
- Written binding flat figure or hourly band issued before move day — signed by Mitch, signed by you.
- $255 deposit holds the calendar; refundable if cancelled by noon five business days before move day; otherwise applied to the final invoice.
- Reschedules inside the five-day window forfeit the deposit unless the date moves to a slot we can fill.
Liability & claims
Baseline household-goods liability is $0.60 per pound per article per federal rule. Full-value protection available on quote. Claims must be filed in writing to [email protected] within the federal nine-month window. We respond inside three business days, settle inside thirty.
What we will not haul
- Cash, jewelry, documents — carry these yourself
- Hazardous materials — propane, paint thinner, ammunition, fireworks
- Perishable food without prior arrangement
- Live plants or animals across state lines
- Anything illegal under New York or federal law
